My name is Brian Lightly, owner of Lightly Services (est. April, 2025).  Born and raised here in Southern Minnesota.  I currently live and work out of our home in Owatonna with my wife and 4 kids.

I started my career as a Mechanical Engineer and gained experience designing, testing, repairing and rebuilding products and machines.  I have managed countless engineering projects large and small.  The one skill that I developed as an engineer, that I cherish most, was the ability to fix things that have no designed or store-bought solution.  As an engineer, I found myself working in many different commercial spaces, and realized I’d rather be working ON those buildings instead.

Construction has always been a hobby of mine, starting from the time I could swing a hammer, and I'm excited to create a business doing what I love.  I like to fix and remodel homes, and there’s always a couple projects going on at my house.  I enjoy making spaces more functional and usable.  My hope is to grow my contractor business in the commercial market.  I’m always ready to use my skills as a handyman and builder in the residential market as well.

I’m looking for customers more than projects.  Customer satisfaction is very important to me.  I have a very good attention to detail and I’m good at anticipating needs outside of what is requested.  My goal is to help guide you to a solution that satisfies your needs.

I currently have a Mechanical Bond, and I'm certified to handle refrigerant.  I'm also registered as a Commercial Contractor, and I will have a Residential General Contractors license in August, 2025.​
